CARCHARODONTOSAURUS
DINOSAUR TOOTH
-
"Taouz" region
of the Sahara Desert, Morocco
LATE
CRETACEOUS PERIOD: 96 - 66 million years ago
The last image really
shows off the beauty of this Carcharodontosaurus tooth. With the
exception for a very fine fracture repair at just the first .25" of
the tip, this tooth is intact and in remarkable preservation. Both
sides are solid and the enamel is complete with a bright sunset
gold-orange glow and sheen. Stunning grain can be seen across the
near perfect smooth surface on both sides. The serrations are worn
in some areas from feeding use but where present, display a crisp
detail. Even the tip is present and only shows the slightest
evidence of natural feeding wear. Of course, NO
RESTORATION. Tooth is much better in person than in photos above.
This
tooth was found several years ago when fine condition teeth were more
prevalent. If you are looking for a well-preserved tooth in this
size class, you will be hard-pressed to locate a better specimen!
Quality Carcharodontosaurus teeth such as this example represent one of,
if not THE fastest appreciating dinosaur teeth on the market.
